FAQ

1. What is a canvas print?

A canvas print is simply a piece of artist canvas wrapped round 4 pieces of wood (stretcher bars) & then stapled down at the back. The canvas is stretched tight & secured with corner wedges.

This means you get a unique 3D effect which no other art medium gives you.

2. What payment methods do you accept?

We can accept payment through our merchant Paypal account, Personal Cheques or Postal Orders. You do not need to have a Paypal account to pay us through paypal. You can use all major credit cards through paypal including Visa, Mastercard, Solo, Switch, Delta & Maesto amongst others

If you choose to pay via Paypal you will automatically be directed to the Paypal website where you can securely enter your credit/debit card details.

3. What delivery methods do you use & how long will it take for my canvas to arrive?

Choose Canvas use 2 companies for delivery in the UK. For smaller canvases we use Royal Mail & will post via 1st Class Recorded Mail. This means that a signature will be required on delivery. This method will normally be delivered within 1-3 working days.

For our larger prints we use DHL & post via their @home 48 service. This means that your canvas will arrive within 48 hrs (excluding Sundays) of us posting.

Delivery outside of the UK is via Royal Mail Signed for International mail. This will also require a signature & will take up to 10 working days. If you are outside the UK please contact us before ordering & we will get back to you with a shipping price. You can either contact us via our 'Contact Us' page or via email.

Please remember the above is for postage time only. On top of this please allow 2 days for us to print your canvas.

4. Will my canvas be well protected when posting?

In a word  - Yes. Once we have printed your canvas we will bubble wrap it numorous times. We then place it in a secure telescopic box designed especially for canvas prints & picture frames. The box is then secured with strong parcel tape. Finally we will write on the box 'Fragile' so that the delivery company will know to handle with care.

5. What does your 'Gift Wrap & Personal Message Service' involve?

Our gift wrap & personal message service is perfect if you are buying the canvas as a present for somebody else. You purchase the canvas in the usual way & then select the 'Gift Wrap & Personal Message service' option. As you check out just add the message you would like to be added to the gift card as well as the name & address of the person you would like us to send it to in the 'comments' field. We will then gift wrap the canvas, add your message to the gift card & post directly to the person you require us to. You never see the canvas - only if you see it on the wall in your friends house !

6. You state that you use Gallery Depth stretcher bars. What are these & what does gallery depth mean?

Stretcher Bars are the 4 panels of wood which, when joined together with their male/female ends, make the frame that your canvas is wrapped around. There are 2 types of stretcher bars: Standard & Gallery Depth. We use Gallery Depth only as they are twice as deep as standard depth. This means that you get much more of a 3D effect.

7. What are these Corner Wedges that you keep mentioning?

Corner Wedges are small plastic pieces which are shaped perfectly to fit into the four corners of the frame of your canvas. They are put in place after the canvas has been wrapped around the frame & tapped into place thus pushing the canvas out & making it tighter. The sole purpose of Corner Wedges is to make the canvas fit tighter around the stretcher bars. All canvases may become a little 'saggy' in time (due to temperature change, knocks & movement) - if this happens you can tap these wedges again - thus retightening the canvas.

8. The images on your website don't look like they will be good enough quality to print onto a large canvas. Are these the images you use when printing onto canvas?

The images on our website have been reduced in size & quality to enable quicker loading times for each page. When we print your canvas we use a much higher quality image meaning we can print it larger without losing any quality.

 9. I need some advice. Can you help & if so, how can I contact you?

Yes you may contact us for advice at any time. You can contact us in 3 ways. Either by using the Contact Us link, via email at mail@choosecanvas.com or via telephone on 01376 573761. We aim to respond to all queries within 24hrs.
